A
recent article in The Arizona Republic discusses Maricopa
County's newly formed animal cruelty task force, called the
Law Enforcement for Animal Protection Task Force.
The
task force will meet June 27, and organizers say the first
order of business will be to set up a telephone hotline for
accepting animal cruelty reports. Next will be creating a
website for the public to track animal cruelty cases being
prosecuted and offer other information related to animal cruelty
laws.
The
group says it also wants to improve communications among all
the agencies in the system and increase training for law enforcement
and justice-system personnel on the issue of animal cruelty
law enforcement and prosecution.

County has a similar group in the Animal Cruelty Task Force
