The
Animal Defense League of Arizona was founded in 1997 through
the merger of Phoenix-based Concerned Arizonans for Animal
Rights and Ethics (CAARE) and Tucson-based Voices for Animals
(VFA). ADLA is a statewide non-profit 501(c)(3) animal rights
organization. Local ADLA chapters and programs operate in
Flagstaff, Phoenix, and Prescott, and Tucson, and Spay/Neuter
programs operate in these regions as well as in Graham County
and Wickenburg.
OUR
MISSION: To protect and defend Arizona’s animals.
ADLA works to protect all of Arizona’s animals including companion
animals, farm animals, wildlife, and animals in entertainment
and sports. ADLA zealously employs all legal means available
in its role as as a defender of and advocate for animals.
ADLA
works to defend and protect Arizona's animals with these approaches:
Education
& Public Awareness
ADLA works to bring animal issues to the fore through its
website, action alerts, semi-annual newsletter and press
releases.
Research
& Investigation
ADLA works to bring hidden animal abuses to light so that
they can be stopped.
Reform
ADLA works to insure criminal prosecution of animal abuse
cases. As animal advocates, we also work hard to represent
the interests of animals to agencies at all levels of government
and industry.
