The
animal and ecoterrorist bill passed the Legislature* and was
sent to the Governor today.
Please
contact Governor Napolitano and ask her to veto SB 1166; animal
and ecological terrorism.
Let her know that SB 1166 contains penalties for crimes that
are already covered under strong existing laws. Regardless
of compromised language, the bill remains a politically motivated,
blatant attempt to stigmatize animal and conservation advocates.
If the Governor signs SB 1166, Arizona would become the first
state to add animal or ecological terrorism to the definition
of racketeering, subject to prosecution under RICO statutes.
To
reach the Governor, call 602-542-4331 or toll free 1-800-253-0883.
Her fax number is 602-542-1381 and her address is 1700 West
Washington, Phoenix, Arizona 85007. To email her, either click
